You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the variety of lesson options available in Vaujany. The resort is proud to host its own branch of the ESF – École du Ski Français, which has been teaching skiers and snowboarders of all ages and levels for over 35 years.
Group lessons meet each morning at the Vaujany lift station before heading up into the mountains for a day of learning and fun. There’s a convenient on-slope drop-off and pick-up service for after morning and before afternoon sessions.
From the gentle green and blue pistes of Montfrais - a peaceful, uncrowded haven ideal for beginners, to the expansive terrain of the entire Alpe d’Huez Grandes Domaines, the options are truly exceptional.

Since 1989, Vaujany’s dedicated team of around 20 instructors has built a strong reputation for high-quality teaching and happy, returning clients. The school offers an excellent children’s programme, as well as private and group lessons in both skiing and snowboarding - from complete beginners to advanced levels.
All instructors speak good English, ensuring clear communication and a supportive learning environment.

Vaujany’s small and friendly ESF ski school offers tailor-made activity packages for young children aged 3 to 5 years. Little ones begin in the ski kindergarten, gradually progressing to the nursery slopes as their confidence grows.
Each morning, ski school meets at 09:00 at the main Vaujany lift station, to depart promptly at 09:15, where instructors accompany the children up to Montfrais - a gentle, uncrowded area ideal for learning.
After a supervised lunch at the mountain restaurant La Vaujaniate, the day continues with two options:
- Younger children are accompanied back down to the village crèche for a relaxed afternoon.
- Older children join their afternoon ski classes to continue building skills on the slopes.

Whether you're a first-timer or looking to refine your technique, the local Vaujany ESF offers expert instruction to help you master the slopes. From snowplough to parallel turns, from sliding to carving, their friendly instructors will have you gliding with confidence in no time. Lessons are available in the morning, afternoon, or as full-day sessions.
Parents and partners can choose to rendezvous with their loved ones at Montfrais, before lunch, after lunch, or at the end of the day - giving you complete freedom to explore the wider ski area without needing to return midday.
At the end of the day, you’re welcome to collect your children at 16:15 from the nursery slopes at Montfrais, and enjoy a few gentle runs together. Alternatively, you can meet them back at the main lift station between 16:30 and 16:45 - the same spot where you dropped them off in the morning
