  • “Our party all had a most wonderful holiday! Firstly, the quite unbelievable food from Marcus, dishes we would never have experienced but for his skill and passion in his kitchen. Secondly, the service we received from the moment we arrived from all the Saskia team was just right, relaxed but highly attentive, particularly from Mark who had just joined you apparently! Thirdly, Saskia catered for our family’s needs perfectly, we have been skiing for over two decades and this holiday was one of our best and finally, Vaujany the Alpe d'Huez Grande Domaine and near perfect weather and snow conditions just made our time with you more memorable, Many thanks”,

Julian and Smart family, Chalet Saskia, XMAS 2011.

  • “Chalet hosts excellent all round. Fantastic food – best I’ve ever had at a chalet and I’ve stayed at quite a few. Also very tolerant and understanding of our children. Ski Leaders very helpful indeed-nothing seemed too much trouble”.

D Watson, Chalet Rostaing, March 2009.

  • Snow Conditions

Vaujany/Alpe d’Huez (3300m to 1100m) are currently blessed with some of the best snow conditions in the Alps. On the 28th December there were 115 groomed runs open (out of a possible 133); there was 210cms of snow pack at the top and 102cms at resort level. Both the Sarenne and La Fare are open and this is generally the litmus test for skiing conditions. Furthermore our accommodation and our staff are performing at tip top levels. Reserve your holiday with confidence.

Chalet Rostaing

Set off the quiet road leading through La Villette, its size makes Rostaing our best ski chalet that we cater for larger groups. Because of its size it is also perfect for larger family skiing holidays. The building, an old alpine farmhouse, has been meticulously restored and now oozes character and charm with an abundance of wood and grey mountain stone.
Your holiday in catered ski chalet Rostaing will be fully taken care of by a live-out chalet chef and host. We carefully select the team to look after you and to ensure you are provided with daily generous breakfasts, homemade afternoon cake or biscuits and dinners which will be of genuine restaurant standard. In addition they are very knowledgeable about the mountain and village and really care that you enjoy your experience. Together with your very own La Villette Rep they form a team that will leave you wanting for nothing.
As part of your stay in Rostaing, you’ll also be provided with lifts to Vaujany, its shops, swimming pool, lift station or to the restaurant of your choice on the chalet night off. Staying in La Villette is quite a special experience – few hamlets retain such history, traditions and charm whilst being only three minutes from a modern ski resort. Chalet Rostaing is in La Villette but very much still a Vaujany ski chalet.

Luxury Rostaing style...

  • Replace the alarm with the cockerel next door as it calls you to your freshly prepared breakfast of croissants, baguettes, cereals and eggs – everything you need to see you through until lunch on the hill.
  • When ready help your Rep load your skis into your private shuttle and ride the three minutes down to Vaujany and its 160 man telepherique.
  • After dropping the children with ski school, it’s time to experience the joys of a virtually queue-free resort. Be whisked up to 2800m in no time, before connecting to Peak Blanc (3300m) from where 250kms of fantastic pistes open up below you!
  • Sat Nav not working? Choose to join our excellent team of Reps and let them guide you down the best runs and through the best mountain restaurants.
  • When you’re done for the day the choice is yours – ski back to La Villette or down to Vaujany for the shuttle back home to freshly baked cake or biscuits every afternoon.
  • Relax while your kids play outside in the deep snow of Rostaing’s enclosed garden or have them driven to the excellent gym and pool in Vaujany.
  • Pre dinner – hardest choice: which log fire to kick back in front off with your aperitif as the children are served their supper?
  • Dinner in Rostaing is special: dine in the beautifully converted ex-milk parlour on 4 or 5 courses to the accompaniment of candles, French wines and the glow of the wood fire. You won’t want to leave!
