Vaujany restaurants - bon apetit!

Fancy Gratin Dauphinois? Traditional Fondue? Tartiflette? Raclette? Pizza or spaghetti for the children? Although you’re unlikely ever to go hungry when you’re on a Ski Peak holiday, we do occasionally give our chalet chefs a night off! You might also be in self-catered accommodation or you might wish to indulge in a legendary Alpine plat du jour lunch washed down in the sunshine with a chilled carafe of rose for lunch. Ski Peak chefs cater to the very highest standards, creating modern cuisine with truly global influences, but we tend to leave preparing the traditional French mountain food to the experts – the French mountain people who run the few cosy restaurants in Vaujany and numerous charming options on the pistes. Thankfully, there is plenty of choice and the above dishes are available in abundance.

Our guests say...

“All totally excellent – couldn’t have been more friendly, helpful, professional etc. Out of this world food”.

In the evening dining out in Vaujany is a real pleasure. There are a couple of great little bars for a traditional kir aperitif, a chance to mingle with some of the village characters and it’s never far to wander along to one of the charming little restaurants so popular with holiday makers and locals alike. Being a village rather than a large resort, the restaurants are small, charming and rarely full, giving you all the benefits of attentive service along with good fresh food prepared there and then. Then back to one of those little bars for ‘one last genepi’? Dining options are...

La Remise

The family favourite. Pascal’s wood fired oven pizzas are now legendary, and the atmosphere extremely cosy, with wooden walls and old mountain tools aplenty surrounding you. Traditional French mountain dishes are prepared with great care. Take away also possible.

Chez Bibi

Great especially for non-skiers at lunchtime. A different plat du jour every day, real home-cooking, good local food. For Ski Peak guests in the Oisans apartments, they can provide a platter of the traditional charcuterie and cheese – every apartment has its own raclette set – so light the fire, get that cheese melting and bon apetit tout le monde!

Mas de Neige

Carrying on the tradition of great mountain food (tartiflette, fondue and raclette are specialities), Fabian and Virginie have taken over the reins at this charming little restaurant at the top of the village. Great for adult couples as kids tend to head next door.

La Mi Do Re

Does Frank make the best pizzas in Vaujany? It’s a close call. For sure the extensive and very tasty take away menu is popular, particularly with our Oisans guests, and is a firm kids favourite with a DVD before bedtime. Also does fondue and raclette platters.

Aigle Royal

There’s only one reason to come here, but what a reason: fantastic made-on-the-spot crepes. Not much more than a shed in the middle of the village in someone’s backyard, but never judge a book by its cover – the nutella crepes are simply irresistible.

Table de la Fare

At this prime location in the very centre of the village, Southern French chef/owner Damian returns to continue his more modern French cuisine. Perhaps the classiest restaurant in the village? Also, the sun-drenched central square right out front has become the place to be for après ski snacks and pichets of rose or demis all round.
