  • Snow Conditions

    Vaujany/Alpe d’Huez (3300m to 1100m) are currently blessed with some of the best snow conditions in the Alps. On the 28th December there were 115 groomed runs open (out of a possible 133); there was 210cms of snow pack at the top and 102cms at resort level. Both the Sarenne and La Fare are open and this is generally the litmus test for skiing conditions. Furthermore our accommodation and our staff are performing at tip top levels.   • Your host will sneak into the kitchen quietly in the mornings and you’ll be woken gently by the scent of freshly baked pastries, baguettes, roasted coffee and fried eggs – all you’ll have to do is get out of bed.
  • Jump in your private minibus, straight from the front door of your luxury apartment, for the 1 minute drive to the lift or stroll past the shops and down the escalator. You have the choice of 2 boot rooms; one down by the lift and one below the apartment – either way your boots will be warm.
  • If the children are in ski school leave them in the care of their instructor and you’re good to go.
  • We begin our famous ski leading service at ten or just after so you’ll have time for a couple of warm-up runs before joining our excellent team – a day of great snow, pistes and restaurants awaits!
  • When you can ski no more simply return to Vaujany, escalate it or grab the shuttle up to afternoon tea in Gentiane.
  • For the children (and adults) there’s the option of snowmen building in the garden, a lift to the great pool or just kicking back in front of the fire before children’s supper is served.
  • For adults 4 or 5 courses of the very highest standard will be served by your private chef while you sample our excellent French wines that accompany.
  • We may have five stars – but from your balcony before bed, the view will be of millions!

When a chalet or an apartment is booked for sole occupancy and the numbers of people (not including infants) falls below the required minimum occupancy the under-occupancy charge is 60% of the grid price per person for the chalets and 50% of the grid price for the apartments.
