Child care and the children's ski school

The Vaujany Crèche and Garderie Day Nursery.

This well-run local village nursery has established an excellent reputation and is exceptionally good value. As a result Vaujany cjild care is second to none. The crèche with its well-equipped playrooms are full of toys and games to keep even the busiest of little ones entertained. There’s also a ball-park, TV room and a dormitory for taking a nap when required.
The staff speak a reasonable amount of English and the day-nursery is conveniently situated close to the main lift-station in Vaujany.

Ski Kindergarten/Vaujany Ski School and Crèche/Garderie Day Nursery.

For lively 4 and 5 year olds there are tailor-made packages of activities provided by Vaujany’s small, friendly ski school (Vaujany ESF). In the morning, children can find their ski legs at the ski kindergarten and after a supervised lunch spend the afternoon having more fun in the Garderie day nursery.
Ski school starts at 9.15am when instructors meet children at the main lift station in Vaujany and accompany them up to the ski kindergarten at Montfrais. After a lunch stop at the mountain restaurant near the kindergarten, all 4 year olds and any 5 year old beginners are accompanied back to the day nursery for an afternoon of games and activities until 5.00pm.
For those who are new to skiing, the Jardin de Neige (ski kindergarten) at Montfrais near to the top of the gondola has a special nursery ski lift and some pretend animals. Children are gently introduced to snow by simply walking on their skis, tobogganing or skiing down the short nursery slope.

Full Day Ski School.

All children over 6 and any 5 year olds who have skied before can do both morning and afternoon ski school sessions. Instructors meet children at the main lift station at 9.15am and take them up to the slopes. At midday, there’s a well-earned lunch break at the Montfrais mountain restaurant with time out for playing in the snow or in the playroom if conditions are poor. Parents can choose to rendezvous with their children at Montfrais at 4.15pm to see the day’s progress first hand and do a few gentle runs en famille, or to collect them from their instructors at the main lift station between 4.30 & 4.45pm.
